Use of Research Area
Registered researchers can make use of our research and reproduction facilities. Detailed guidelines for use are listed as follows:
- Only Registered Researchers may use the Research Area.
- On each visit, Registered Researchers must first check in at the Reception Desk.
- All personal belongings must be left in the lockers before entering the Research Area.
- Only pencils may be used in the Research Area in order to avoid damage to archival materials.
- Researchers may request materials at the Reception Desk.
- All materials in the Research Area are non-circulating and must be consulted at the desks provided.
- Release dates for archival materials may be consulted on request.
- Archives and reserved printed materials are accessed through microfilms.
- Researchers requiring assistance from Archives staff may ask at the Reception Desk.
- Researchers may consult up to three microfilms at a time.
- Requests to consult material on Saturdays may be submitted by 17:00 on Friday afternoon.
- Please do not write, alter, fold or handle materials in any way that might cause damage.
- Notify archive staff of any material needing preservation attention.
- Researchers must return all materials and remove their personal belongings from the locker if they intend to leave the premises for more than fifteen minutes.
- The Archives retains the right to remove all materials left unattended for over fifteen minutes.
