Enclosed in the record of operation costs of a maternity home in Taipa from April 1956 to December 1959 were a proposed floor plan of the maternity home to be converted from a building on Calçada do Carmo in Taipa in 1956, a photograph of the building and the price list of the maternity home in 1958.
According to the book “Reminiscence of Old Taipa”, the maternity home was under the charge of midwife Tam Sao Kai from 1957 to 1982.
