Reference code(s) : MO/AH/AC/SA/01/19904/001

The building progress of this road is presented in a management report of the County of the Islands by its administrator in 1948.  The road was built by the Public Works Department to connect the Taipa fortress and Taipa Village. This major project that started with embankment and land reclamation in 1947 took a few years to complete. Named after the then governor of Macao, the road “Estrada Governador Albano de Oliveira” is 1,420 metres in length.

On 25 February 1950, Governor Albano de Oliveira officiated at the opening ceremony of the road and a new quay near the Taipa fortress. Today, 63 years afterwards, works on Macao's light rail system project are in full swing on the road.

Below shows photographs of the construction works in 1948 enclosed in the report.
